Nutrient Management Strategies
Our work is centered around developing sustainable technologies for nutrients removal and recovery from non-sewered sanitation systems (NSSSs). These NSSSs observe exceptionally high concentrations of both nitrogen and phosphorus species which cannot be easily removed with biological processes due to the variable loading rates and lack of adequate sensor technology for precise monitoring. Our goal is to develop sustainable treatment methods that removed and recover valuable resources for future reuse.
